Secukinumab

Description :  

Secukinumab belongs to immuno suppressant which decrease the effects of a chemical substance in the body which can cause inflammation. Secukinumab is required to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (raised, silvery flaking of the skin) in adults.

Indication : 

Secukinumab indicated for the treatment of following condition :

Plaque Psoriasis,
Psoriatic arthritis,
Ankylosing spondylitis..


Mechanism Of Action : 

Human IgG1 monoclonal antibody which selectively joins to and negate the pro inflammatory cytokine interleukin 17A (IL-17A)
IL-17A is a normally appearing cytokine which is involved in normal inflammatory and immune responses and plays a key role in the pathogenesis of plaque psoriasis.

Drug Interaction :

Live vaccinations interaction with scapho 150mg should be avoided CYP450 substrates interaction with scapho injection may altered by increased levels of certain cytokines.

Side Effects : 

Rhinitis,Oral herpes ,Pharyngitis ,Urticaria ,Rhinorrhoeainfections ,Nasopharyngitis ,Diarrhea ,URT infection .

Precautions : 

Scapho may increase risk of infections; use with caution in patients with chronic infection or a history of recurrent infection Start with anti-TB therapy before to initiation of scapho in patients with a history of latent or active TB in whom an adequate course of treatment cannot be confirmed May infuriate Crohn disease Anaphylaxis and cases of urticaria resulted; if this appears, discontinue scapho immediately and start anaphylaxis treatment.
